Marketing partner, Claire Scaramanga hit’s the nail on the head when it comes to networking:
I don’t go to these events with a mission to give my card to as many people as possible. I go with a mission to meet interesting people who can possibly help me at some time and who I can also help.
It has always bothered me at networking events when greasy people push their greasy business cards at you, while all the time trying as hard as they can to dis-engage in conversation because they’ve got a full box of cards in their greasy pockets and they haven’t fully ‘worked the room’.

I have been trawling through job bags to find brand concepts that were not selected by clients during the corporate identity design process. I am selecting and working-up those logos that do not rely on the company name and making them available for a one-time sale.
This spark plug, for instance would form a great image for a garage or auto repair company.
I have created a special area on the Associate Design website to promote these brands – Instant brands for SME’s!
I have for nearly twenty years been creating and managing brands for small businesses. And, during this time I have also been actively involved with the marketing of my scuba diving Club, which as a ‘no profit’ organisation doesn’t have much money to throw at marketing.
